Troubleshooting Your Welding Torch: Common Issues and Easy Fixes

No Spark? No Problem!

Why Your Tonyweld Torch Makes No Spark For Welding? This is pretty infuriating, but all you need to do is relax! This is an easily solved problem usually. Make sure your TIG TORCHES AND CONSUMABLES is on and connected to your welder. If everything's connected but you still don't see a spark, the issue could be that your tip is dirty.

Leaking Gas? Here's the Fix!

Another very common problem with your Tonyweld torch will be a gas leak. If the torch is not fastened properly or your hose is damaged, you are sure to have a gas leak. Step 1: Turn the gas supply off immediately. Safety first! Then inspect all of your connections to ensure they are good and tight. If you see any loose connections, you tighten them and try the torch again. And if all of the connections seem fine, but you smell gas, your hose could be the culprit. Ruptures, cracks, or even damage may appear on your hose so check it properly. When you notice problems with the hose, the safest thing you could do is go ahead and change it to a new hose for security and everything in order.

Fixing a Sticking Trigger

If you find your Tonyweld torch has a stuck trigger, don't worry! This 9 8210 thermal dynamics problem can be quite common, and it is usually an easy fix that you can do yourself. So step one is to check if your trigger is dirty. Dirt can sometimes make it act this way. If it is dirty, clean it off with a rag and some rubbing alcohol until it is nice and clean. Once you've completed cleaning the trigger, check to see if it works again. If this doesn't work the problem could be that your trigger spring has become worn and you may need a new one. To correct this disassemble the miller torch with care. Take the unit apart, replacing my old trigger spring with a new one. When reassembling your torch, your trigger should be working like the first day you received your torch again.

A clog in a torch tip is one of the most common complaints of most welders. This may arise either because you are using an inappropriate type of wire, or your wire might have dirt on it. To troubleshoot this you have to stop your welder first for security reasons. Secondly, you have to pull out your torch tip from it and clean it with a wire brush. Water flow will only be possible if there are no blockages. If the tip gets clogged in spite of your cleaning process, then for that situation, your best option would be using a wire that is suitable for your project. If that doesn't work, it may be that your wire is dirty itself. If so then wipe the wire down with a rag and some rubbing alcohol to remove dirt. Clean a bit, and then try welding again. This time it works better.
